The Shipping Monster, a provider of logistics and transportation to touring exhibitions, attractions and the entertainment industry, says it is delighted to collaborate once more with Luminaries, a captivating interactive installation of brilliant lanterns inspired by the season’s traditions of sharing, giving, and community.

The luminous canopy of Luminaries is made up of 640 glittering handmade lanterns, varying in colour and intensity.

The Shipping Monster arranged for the exhibitory to be transported from its New York storage location to Brookfield Place’s Winter Garden in Manhattan, where it will open to the public on 25 November 2022.

A beautiful tradition

Founded in 2009, the firm is a speciality company that provides shipping, storage, and production management solutions to the live events and attractions industries.

The Shipping Monster CEO and founder Robert Aspinall says: “It has been our pleasure to provide the storage and specialty logistics for this beautiful holiday tradition over the last few years. We love seeing both children’s and adults’ faces light up as they experience the beauty of this exhibit during such a special time of year in New York.”

The Luminaries installation was created by the LAB at Rockwell Group, which is serving the community by allowing guests to Illuminate their holiday wishes, whether this is by sending a motion-activated wish or conducting the canopy of glowing lanterns above.

Helping those in need

Brookfield Place will donate $1 to Outreach for every contact at Luminaries, up to a maximum of $25,000. The donation will fund high-quality, evidence-based behavioural health services to kids and adults in NYC and Long Island battling with substance and alcohol misuse.

More information on the exhibit can be found on the Brookfield Properties website.

The Shipping Monster has extensive experience in moving large and delicate installations, including animatronic dinosaurs, a requirement of a North American project last year with Dino Don Inc.
