Tate has announced leading British curator Jessica Morgan as its new director, effective from 1 January 2027.
Morgan will become the 10th director in Tate's history, and comes to the institution from Dia Art Foundation, where she has served as director since 2015.
Dia Art Foundation is a contemporary arts organisation with locations in Beacon, New York, and the American West.
Under Morgan's leadership, Dia Art Foundation has increased free admission, undertaken capital projects across all of its sites, and expanded its collection and exhibition programme.

Before joining Dia, Morgan worked at Tate Modern as a curator of international art from 2010 to 2014, and as a curator at Tate from 2002 to 2010.
Prior to that, she served as chief curator at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston and as a curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago.
"Tate is undoubtedly the world's foremost institution for international modern and contemporary art and for British art, leading the field through its collection and exhibition programme," said Morgan.

Every year, Tate welcomes millions of visitors to its four museums – Tate Modern, Tate Britain, Tate Liverpool and Tate St Ives.
Morgan is succeeding Maria Balshaw, who has stepped down as Tate's director.
