PGAV, a global leader in the planning and design of unique destinations, has announced that it is heading master planning and concept development for the relocation of Fantasilandia, one of Chile’s best-loved theme parks.

The attraction is moving to a larger site in San Bernardo, after being located in Parque O’Higgins for almost 50 years.

Innovation & nostalgia

PGAV's extensive master plan for the new site south of Santiago sets out a vision for both the theme park and an accompanying water park, in a relocation strategy that carefully balances innovation with nostalgia.

In developing this plan, the team explored Fantasilandia’s five-decade-long history, including its cultural roots, brand evolution, and visitor traditions. The park’s story remains central, from its beginnings as a single bumper car building to expansion into a full theme park, and the TV show that featured its beloved mascots.

The resulting concept enables many attractions to move to the new location while adding entirely new experiences.

Portals will mark distinct zones, each with a unique character and atmosphere, unified by a cohesive storyline. New attractions, dining options, and visitor facilities will enhance the park experience and engage a wider range of guests.

Jeff Havlik, PGAV vice president, says: "In designing the master plan, we wanted to honor 50 years of memories while creating a new chapter that still feels like the Fantasilandia guests love.

"Through thoughtful master planning, cultural storytelling, and phased development, PGAV is helping ensure that the next 50 years of Fantasilandia are as meaningful and memorable as the first."

The relocation is scheduled to finish by December 2027, just in time for Fantasilandia to celebrate its 50th anniversary at its new location.

Along with leading the overall relocation strategy, PGAV has developed the master plan for the new water park and progressed it through the concept design phase. The water park is now under construction and is provisionally planned to open in December 2026.

Last month, PGAV announced the promotion of Hui Chen and Dan O’Neill to vice president. They will play a vital role in advancing the company's business development initiatives.
