Creating Adventurous Places (CAP.Co), the adventure play specialist, has announced that it is developing a new adventure play park for the Thursford Collection, a unique attraction in Norfolk, UK.
The Thursford Collection offers internationally renowned Christmas events, a museum for the world’s largest collection of steam engines and organs, and a leading event venue.
In this project with CAP.Co, the venue will extend its offering with a new vintage fairground themed play area. This is set to be one of the biggest play parks in the East Anglia area.
30,000 square foot play park
North Norfolk District Council has approved planning permission for the new play park. Replacing the attraction’s existing play area, the new attraction will span 30,000 square feet and accommodate up to 400 visitors.
The entire play park will have a vintage fairground theme, with attractions such as the UK-first water play fountain installation, giant Helter Skelter, Crazy Carousel, Ferris Wheel, bumper car area, teacups, and more.
The bespoke themed play structure will also have walkways, bridges, and tunnels across numerous levels to explore, and is expected to be complete for late summer 2025.
CAP.Co has recently been celebrating the success of Windsor Great Park Adventure Play, which was named as a winner in this year’s Thea Awards for Outstanding Achievement. This prestigious accolade from the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) will be officially presented at an event in Los Angeles in March 2025.

Windsor Great Park is a historic Royal landscape of woodlands, pastures, lakes, and gardens in the south of England. Its bespoke adventure playground, Adventure Play, launched in July 2023 and has already welcomed over 130,000 visitors. This inclusive family attraction was commissioned by The Crown Estate and designed and built by CAP.Co, supported by a large multidisciplinary team.
Last year, CAP.Co and Newhaven Fort, a heritage site in East Sussex, UK, revealed details of a new adventure playground being created as part of the attraction’s £7.5 million restoration project.
