Merlin Entertainments has revealed more about its next-generation Legoland Discovery Centres, which will now be called Lego Discovery Centres. The first offering of its kind is opening in Brussels in summer 2022.

Featuring a new look and design, Lego Discovery Centres will continue to offer interactive indoor Lego play experiences. Additionally, a new state-of-the-art Lego Space digital experience will allow visitors to build a rocket out of Lego bricks.

After which, children and families can digitally scan their rocket, launch it and fly it in space. Lego Discovery Centres will also feature a new pre-school offering with a dinosaur-themed carousel and slides.

“We are delighted that our partnership with the LEGO Group continues to deliver such fantastic opportunities for our guests,” said Justin Platt, chief strategy officer for Merlin Entertainments.

Currently, there are 27 Legoland Discovery Centres across the globe. Merlin’s portfolio of attractions also includes nine Legoland Resorts. The new Lego Discovery Centre experience is designed to offer more play and learning activities.

“By creating this highly interactive indoor Lego experience we will give families a place to play, explore, create and have fun together,” said Julia Goldin, chief product and marketing officer at the Lego Group.

“Working closely with Merlin Entertainments and their expertise in the location-based entertainment sector, we hope to spark curiosity, creativity and imagination for the builders of tomorrow.”
