Moscow Aims to Top the London Eye with Europe's Tallest Ferris Wheel

Moscow is building the tallest Ferris wheel in Europe, according to Russia Behind The Headlines.

The 140-metre high attraction in the VDNKh exhibition grounds will top the London Eye by around 5 metres. It will have the capacity for 1.5 million visitors a year.

Architectural firm, Chapman Taylor, is designing the wheel along with Swiss engineering company, Intamin.

Investors hope it will be one of the capital's top-five most visited attractions.

The Ferris wheel will feature 30 closed cabins designed to hold a maximum of 20 people.

There will also be a broad-roofed promenade, a network of themed restaurants, shops, a cinema and a wax museum.

Amiran Mutsoev, a board member at Regions Group, the project’s sole investor, said that making the wheel the tallest in Europe was 'strategically important'.
