Ropes Courses Incorporated, a leading adventure attractions company, has announced it is trialling Zipline Korea, Inc. as an official distributor.

The international division of Ropes Courses Incorporated (RCI) is pleased to announce it is considering adding Zipline Korea, Inc. to its expanding network of worldwide distributors. Zipline Korea has embarked on RCI’s required trial period in order to qualify for the position. The trial lasts around one year, and when successfully completed will result in Zipline Korea gaining the title of RCI Authorized Distributor.

Zipline Korea operates in Seoul, South Korea and is the first zipline company in the country. It is also the largest in the country and has over 10 years of experience in the sector. This pioneering company has installed over 80 zipline courses for local governments. Its core market includes a wide range of venues, such as camps, community centres, resorts, FECs and more. Zipline Korea has also been a longtime member of the Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT) which means they are fully up to date on developments within the industry.

Trial period

The trial period lasts around 6-12 months. Within that timeframe, Zipline Korea will need to develop specific regional markets and successfully complete two or more projects. Once completed, the company will be given the title of RCI Authorized Distributor, which will allow the company to sell RCI adventure products to customers throughout their designated region. The title RCI Global Partner is given to companies during the trial period, in order to aid them in making sales. The trial period is an opportunity for both RCI and Zipline Korea to learn about each other’s businesses, establish trust and evaluate the local market.

“Becoming a distributor for RCI is not easy and requires companies in question have the necessary experience, customer base and overall reach,” says Jon Weston, chief sales officer for RCI. “We see great potential in Zipline Korea, Inc. and believe that they have the know-how of their local markets that is required to be successfully appointed distributors of RCI adventure products.”

“In Korea, there is a great interest when it comes to adventure facilities and the family-friendly products that go inside of these types of businesses,” adds Jeff Jung, president and CEO of Zipline Korea, Inc. “As a Professional Vendor Member of the ACCT, we are well versed in the standards and policies set by the industry and are confident in our ability to provide quality adventure products, be they RCI products in the future.”

Zipline Korea, Inc. is one of 42 Professional Vendor Members recognized in the world by the ACCT. Zipline Korea, Inc. and RCI currently have three projects planned for 2019.

RCI will be attending IAAPA Expo Asia from 12-14th June in Shanghai and can be found at booth #2614.
