Seven unveils plans for $350m entertainment destination in Aseer region

79,000-square-metre entertainment complex to feature eight unique attractions

Saudi Entertainment Ventures (Seven) has unveiled plans for its largest entertainment destination, located in the Aseer region and worth more than $350 million (SAR 1.3 billion).

Seven’s new site is strategically situated near Abha International Airport, between Saudi Arabian cities Abha and Khamis Mushait.

Designed by architecture firm Gensler, the 79,000-square-metre complex will feature eight unique attractions, including a family entertainment centre (FEC) with arcade games, rides and virtual reality (VR) areas.

It will also include a jungle-themed Discovery Adventures edutainment attraction, an outdoor jungle-themed experience, a Play-Doh entertainment centre, and a 12-hole indoor golf area.

Additionally, Seven‘s new venue will boast indoor e-karting, a 10-lane futuristic bowling concept, a 10-screen AMC cinema, and retail and F&B experiences.

Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, chairman of Aseer Development Authority, said: “Aseer region is witnessing an unprecedented renaissance across different sectors and verticals through the endless support from our leadership.

“Seven’s entertainment destination in Abha is one of the key projects in Aseer which will support our ambition to become a global destination all year round.”

Abdullah Al-Dawood, chairman of Seven, added: “Abha represents another ambitious project in the framework of our efforts to support the entertainment sector across the kingdom following the objectives and goals of Vision 2030.

“We are forecasting a GDP contribution of more than SAR 4 bn ($1bn) and over 5 million visitors by 2030. In addition to creating more than hundreds of direct and indirect jobs for the people of Aseer region.”

Al-Dawood said the venue will offer “unique and distinctive entertainment attractions for guests of all age groups, enriching their quality of life”.

Seven, a subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (PIF) has appointed Modern Building Leaders for the construction works.

Seven is investing more than SAR 50bn ($13bn) in 21 entertainment destinations in 14 cities across the kingdom.

Last week, Seven announced a new Transformers-themed coaster for Saudi.
