The move will give the company a localised foothold in a key market

SOMNIACS AG, an award-winning immersive experience company and the developer of the Birdly immersive VR experience, has entered into a new partnership with Barron Games. This will see Barron Games becoming the official Birdly distributor for the entertainment sector in the US, including FECs, entertainment venues, amusement parks and universities.

SOMNIACS has been distributing Birdly in the US since 2015, but this will give an additional, localised foothold on a very important market. Barron has a track record of success in the US in this market.

The Birdly simulator allows people to enjoy the experience of flying freely like a bird as they dive into fantastic new worlds. It is an ideal way for operators to make an impact at a wide range of venues, such as museums, airports, tourist destinations, retail properties and more.

Wingsuit Racer heads to the US

Alongside the expansion of SOMNIACS sales and service capacity in the US, the company is also launching the Wingsuit Racer experience for Birdly as well. Barron will focus on bringing this adrenaline-based experience to the US market as an addition to the complete Birdly portfolio of experiences, which already includes 8 titles.

This partnership will help take SOMNIACS and Birdly into a key growth market in the US.

“Adding Birdly to the Barron Game’s catalogue is really exciting,” says Greg Bacorn, CEO of Barron Games. “I’ve worked alongside the folks at SOMNIACS for a number of years and am thrilled to finally help them increase their impact in the US. Experiences like Birdly are the future of VR and the future of the entertainment industry.

Max Rheiner, CEO of SOMNIACS, adds:

“With our new, multiplayer Wingsuit Racer experience, we feel like it is the right time to renew our focus on the US entertainment market and believe Barron Games will help us hit the next level in doing this.”

Spun off from the Zurich University of the Arts in 2015, the company’s origins are in understanding how unforgettable experiences can transform the way people understand and interact with the world.
