Triotech, an award-winning creator of media-based attractions, has announced the launch of a new movie for its popular VR interactive coin-op simulator, Storm, which will be available for free for all existing and future units. The film, “Sugary Slope”, brings players into a sweet new world, complete with lollipops, candies and even erupting chocolate geysers, where they can enjoy an action-packed, competitive race.
The release continues the company’s strategy to expand its content library, as it has done previously for the Typhoon, its other successful coin-op simulator.
Sweet new adventure
This new candy-filled world is designed to appeal to a wide range of players, from children to young adults, complementing the existing movie catalogue.
“Our focus has always been creating fun for all ages,” says Ernest Yale, President and CEO of Triotech. “We’re developing a content library with a wide appeal just like we did for our other attractions, because that’s what increases revenues for our operators. I can already tell you that even more content is coming in the future!”
The Storm simulator allows players to interact just by waving their hands, thanks to the motion-capture technology, meaning there is no need to touch controls or other components. The interactive coin-op VR ride is also operator-free and has a variety of difficulty levels to encourage repeat play, as players go again to try and beat their high scores.
The product is easy to clean and provides an ideal solution for FECs. It has been popular since its launch, with operators continuing to place orders even during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Earlier this year, Triotech spoke to blooloop about a recent project with Knott’s Berry Farm to reimagine the park’s much-loved Knott’s Bear-y Tales ride for its 100th anniversary. Knott’s Bear-y Tales: Return to the Fair is now open to the public.
