Snow to go: Unlimited Snow introduces Miko’s World midway concept

News
Unlimited Snow Miko's World snow park

Unlimited Snow is to offer a new indoor snow and ice experience for the FEC and midway (short stay) market. Miko’s World will be launched at IAAPA Expo Europe in Paris from September 17 to 19.

The concept has been developed in co-operation with Ice World and makes Unlimited Snow’s winter-themed attractions and experiences available to an even wider choice of venues than before. Four different formats are available, varying from 260 to 2,400 square metres.

Each installation offers a real snow and ice experience inside an air-conditioned environment. Crucially, the concept does not require huge cooling systems and can operate at temperatures as normal as 20°C.

Operators can choose from the more than 60 interchangeable attractions in Unlimited Snow’s catalogue. These include such activities as climbing walls, snow mobiles, a snowball arena, ice carousel, ice slides, inflatable bumper cars, ice bar, Alpine café and 3D/4D theatres. The concept has been developed using Unlimited Snow’s own intellectual property featuring Miko the marmot.

Flexible attraction format

Offered as a turnkey package, Miko’s World can be easily implemented in malls, smaller locations and even temporary set-ups including tents. All that is required, in addition to space, are standard utilities.

Unlimited Snow is offering to provide potential operators with a quick feasibility study for their specific sites. Its initial calculations for clients indicated a 20 per cent return on investment over 10 years.

The Dutch firm has already designed a number of indoor snow and ice parks in China. The most recent of these opened this summer in Wuxi near Shanghai.

Snow’s not the limit

Unlimited Snow is part the Unlimited Leisure Group, whose other brands include TapeMyDay and TheExperienceTicket.com. It is also involved with the HollandWorld project. Described as “the second gate of Amsterdam”, the development next to Schiphol airport proposes a non-gated theme park, 4,000 hotel rooms, conference centre, casino, retail, F&B and other attractions. Opening is predicted for 2023.
