AREA15 named as most visited attraction in the US in 2022

News
AREA15 Las Vegas

The AREA15 district ranked first among 2,289 other US attractions.

AREA15, an immersive art and entertainment district in Las Vegas, welcomed over three million visitors last year. It was the most-visited attraction in the US, according to data from Placer.ai, a leader in location analytics and foot traffic data.

The AREA15 district ranked first among 2,289 other US attractions tracked by Placer.ai’s Points of Interest technology with 3.23 million visits in 2022, according to the data platform, which is utilised by museums, attractions, and businesses around the country. In fact, the Las Vegas attraction recorded one million more visitors than the second-most popular attraction.

The National Museum of African American History in Washington, D.C., Meow Wolf Denver, and the American Museum of Natural History in New York City are among the additional sites listed in Placer.ai’s Top 10.

AREA15 set to expand

“We opened our doors in September 2020 not knowing what the future had in store,” says Winston Fisher, CEO of AREA15. “It’s humbling to have tripled our year-over-year visitors in 2022. As we look ahead to 2023 and beyond, I’m thrilled to look forward to welcoming millions more visitors to the expanding District.”

The category for which the visitation to AREA15 was computed pertains only to museums, attractions, and other places for location-based entertainment.

AREA15 also recently opened a new music and events venue called ‘The Wall’, which is a space for unique programming and events, including music performances, theatre productions, comedy shows, open mic events, karaoke and trivia nights.

The attraction will soon be expanding its district in Las Vegas by 20 acres, offering more attractions, entertainment, retail and F&B. The anchor tenant will be a year-round horror experience from Universal Parks & Resorts inspired by Halloween Horror Nights. In an exclusive interview with blooloop, Fisher said the new experience is going to be “badass” and will have guests “smiling and screaming”.
