Sub Sea Systems, Inc. (SSS), a company specialising in immersive, memorable and hands-on aquatic encounters that educate through entertainment, has recently supplied its small watercraft, SolarCat, to Crystal Lagoons for Evermore Orlando Resort and the Cotino Storyliving by Disney community.

The company is a preferred vendor for Crystal Lagoons, a developer of patented, cutting-edge technology that enables the creation of crystalline lagoons of any size.

Hassle-free fun

Designed for watercraft and beach rental operations, SolarCat is a solar-electric, motorised chaise lounge/pontoon boat with a cruising speed of 5 miles an hour. The boat is easy to drive, requiring no experience, and offers space for two or more passengers on its large lounge, which is equipped with a sunshade.

SolarCat is powered by green energy, featuring high-efficiency solar panels, lithium batteries and silent electric motors. As a result, it does not produce noise pollution or emissions.

Its batteries provide approximately five hours of uninterrupted use on a single charge. This is extended by the solar panels, which can bring the total use to seven hours on a sunny day.

Between uses, the boat can be pulled onto the beach or dock thanks to recessed motors and propellers, and at night it can be fully charged using the built-in battery charger, which plugs into shore power.

In addition to deployment at lagoons, the hassle-free and low-maintenance boats are also popular with cruise lines for passenger use at private island destinations, such as Carnival Cruise Lines’ Amber Cove and Mahogany Bay, Disney’s Castaway Cay, and Norwegian’s Harvest Caye.

Recently, Sub Sea Systems exhibited at IAAPA Expo 2025 in Orlando, where it presented a full-size Aquaticar with a custom finish and gamified features, including Bubble Pulse Guns (BPG), and Snorkel Drift, the world’s first towed snorkel ride system.
