Danika Padilla from Meow Wolf will speak at greenloop 2023. Meow Wolf first attained BCorp status in 2017, aligning with the movement’s commitment to the ideal of “making business a force for good”. We will find out more about what this means for the art collective that transformed into a multimillion-dollar, award-winning Arts Production Company, and how sustainability fits in to an ongoing strategy to have a positive impact beyond shareholder value.

Blooloop is hosting the third greenloop sustainability in visitor attractions conference from 25 to 26 April, online. This unique cross-sector event brings together leading sustainability professionals from the world’s major museums, theme parks, zoos and other visitor attractions. They will share strategy insights and lessons learned to inspire us all to become more sustainable in our businesses and help protect the planet.

Speakers announced to date include WAZA, Disney, Merlin, the Science Museum of Minnesota, Ecomusée Tata Somba, Efteling, PortAventura, Museums Galleries Scotland, Two Oceans Aquarium, Just Stop Oil and more.

Danika Padilla is Vice President of Social & Environmental Impact at Meow Wolf. She will speak about Meow Wolf’s B-Corp status and developing sustainability strategy.

Padilla has over a decade of government, non-profit and corporate activism, and is passionate about expanding the role that businesses play in building and supporting strong communities. She joined Meow Wolf in 2018 and currently heads up Meow Wolf’s corporate social responsibility efforts with an emphasis on positive social & environmental impact. As part of this role, Padilla is leading long-term community relationships across all of Meow Wolf’s locations; including Santa Fe, Las Vegas, Denver, Grapevine and Houston.

Her passion for sustainability started early when she saw first-hand the impacts of monoculture farming, pesticide use, contaminated water and nuclear waste in Eastern Washington state. Padilla holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Washington State University, and in her free time, she explores America’s public lands.

BCorps focus on five key areas of responsibility – Governance, Workers, Community, Environment, and Customers.

‍Meow Wolf first certified as a B Corporation in 2017 and re-certified in 2021. Meow Wolf’s website says: We’re proud to be part of a growing community of corporations dedicated to doing business as a force for good. Meow Wolf believes that our success should not only benefit our investors and shareholders, but should also benefit our workers, our planet, and our community at large”.

Padilla’s session will take place at 3pm BST on 25th April 2023.

Why should you attend greenloop?

greenloop IPCC everything everywhere all at once

With all visitor attractions needing to decarbonise and become more sustainable, greenloop will provide practical, actionable advice and case studies for our attendees, with take-aways that they can put into practice, as well as inspirational insights from industry leaders.

When it comes to solving really big challenges, like how do we build sustainable theme parks, resorts and cruise ships around the world, it takes all of us and all of these different industries coming together. And that’s what’s great about greenloop … our collaboration is key to really think about how we build sustainable themed entertainment experiences.

Emily Dow, Design Studio Executive with Walt Disney Imagineering at greenloop 2021

greenloop aims to connect sustainability leaders from across the attractions industry to enable us to move more quickly towards a more sustainable future.

greenloop is a must-attend event, crossing boundaries to bring together really thought-provoking insights and ideas around the way visitor attractions can not only minimise their environmental impact on the planet, but also act as catalysts for positive change. I cannot think of another event which goes near greenloop as a concentrated dollop of practical green inspiration – a must-attend for several of our team.

Dominic Hare, CEO Blenheim
