Advanced Virtual Wallet technology and RFID wristbands enable cashless transactions at Hurricane Harbor water parks

Connect&GO, a leading global provider of integrated technology and RFID solutions for the attractions industry, has announced a partnership with Six Flags Entertainment Corporation which will facilitate cashless transactions for visitors to a selection of Hurricane Harbor water parks.

Six Flags Entertainment Corporation is the biggest regional theme park operator in the world and the leading water park operator in North America.

The new SixPay programme gives visitors a simple method for making payments and encourages them to spend more money in the parks. This is achieved by using Connect&GO’s exclusive Virtual Wallet technology and customized SixPay RFID wristbands.

SixPay has been rolled out across four of the firm’s Hurricane Harbor water parks, in Arlington Texas, New Jersey, Los Angeles, and Phoenix. The user-friendly solution can be used by team members to provide frictionless cash-free payments.

Dominic Gagnon, Connect&GO CEO, says: “Our partnership with Six Flags marks an exciting time in our 10-year history of deploying cashless operations at venues and attractions around the globe. Our advanced Virtual Wallet technology enhances convenience and guest engagement and aligns perfectly with Six Flags’ vision to create memorable experiences through industry-leading innovation and technology.”

Frictionless experiences & enhanced operations

Guests can effortlessly purchase a cashless wristband, load and reload money, and check their balance through a mobile point-of-sale device anywhere in the water park. For further convenience, guests can also load money onto the wristbands by using an online account. The collaboration not only reduces friction for customers, but also provides a range of operational advantages, such as centralised access to real-time data, smoother sales experiences for seasonal workers, and greater income.

Omar Jacques Omran, chief digital officer at Six Flags Entertainment Corporation, comments: “We are committed to harnessing the latest technology to elevate the guest experience at Six Flags. Through our partnership with Connect&GO, we’ve successfully integrated their advanced RFID technology into our operations. This allowed our guests to enjoy a frictionless experience across our water parks, liberating them from the inconvenience of carrying wallets or phones.

“On top of that, Connect&GO has been an outstanding partner. Their team understands the many factors contributing to successful operations and has been dedicated to helping operators innovate and grow.”

Tara Morandi, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Connect&GO, adds: “The successful launch of SixPay has surpassed our projections and highlights the growing demand for true cashless experiences in the waterpark industry and beyond. We’re dedicated to helping attractions revolutionize their operations with truly integrated technology and real-time data, and we’re honored that Six Flags has selected us as their partner in this endeavor.”

Connect&GO is celebrating its 10th anniversary and has recently closed its second round of funding having raised $25mn, reflecting the significant impact that the firm has made in the attractions industry. As a leader in RFID technology, the firm has also developed a fully integrated platform which has been adopted by organisations across the US, Canada and Europe. The firm will launch a new AI traffic prediction engine at IAAPA Expo 2023 in Orlando.

Earlier this month, Connect&GO released a new integration with Chorus Pro, France’s electronic invoicing portal, in a collaboration that is set to benefit attractions serving public institutions in France. The launch is part of the company’s strategic expansion plan into France and Europe.
