SPREE Interactive transforms The Zone with VR

The immersive and active experience is suitable for younger family members

SPREE Interactive, a leading provider of active free-roam VR experiences, has supplied a new six-player virtual reality arena for a major FEC venue in Dubai.

The firm partnered with Amusement Services International (ASI), a leading distributor of leisure and entertainment products in the MENA region to deliver a family-friendly experience. This collaboration will see the first installation and launch of the SPREE VR Arena in the Middle East in October.

The Zone Amusement Arcade is an action-packed FEC facility covering more than 17000 square feet at Circle Mall in Jumeirah Village Circle, Dubai.

The venue is a safe environment for families to spend quality time with children, with an emphasis on delivering a secure and hygienic environment for guests.

Following a showcase of SPREE VR Arena at the Saudi Entertainment and Amusement Expo this year, ASI will introduce the multiplayer and free-roam X6 SPREE VR Arena as the premier attraction for The Zone, providing visitors with a diverse selection of arcade-style immersive games.

Since opening, The Zone Amusement Arcade has actively been looking for attractions that cater to a younger audience.

The Zone general manager Aakansha Sharma says: “The SPREE VR Arena game library has an excellent pack of interactive and whimsical games, offering the perfect solution for our younger guests. The games are very easy to pick up without any explanation needed, yet very enjoyable and even amusing to watch others play.”

Delivering return visits

Requiring only one member of staff to operate, SPREE’s six-player VR solution can facilitate up to 120 guests per hour, generating active and social fun for the whole family, young and old, in one location.

SPREE Interactive’s commercial director Paul Collimore adds: “The SPREE Arena is an ideal addition to any FEC, which targets ages 6 to 12. The games are designed for high throughput and repeat play, ensuring fantastic ROIs. Leaderboards and seasonal content ensure return visits, and the cheerful content widens any venue’s audience to the whole family.

SPREE Interactive recently showcased its VR technology in London during IAAPA Expo Europe, where attendees could participate in a unique VR bumper car experience.
