The Giant Company has unveiled its global tour for The Giant at the Ireland House exhibition during SXSW. Beginning in August 2025 in Las Vegas, the tour will later continue to New York City, following the efforts of an international team of top designers and fabricators.
The Giant, a 75-foot statue with LED skin, will also serve as a centerpiece for the 250th-anniversary celebrations marking the signing and ratification of the Declaration of Independence in 2026.
This remarkable attraction can quickly morph into historical figures and celebrities, from George Washington and Abraham Lincoln to Marilyn Monroe, Muhammad Ali, and Serena Williams. It also allows visitors to see their own images projected onto it.
“Launching The Giant in the United States presents an incredible opportunity to showcase its capabilities to a wide audience of visitors and potential brand partners,” says Paddy Dunning, CEO of The Giant Company.
“We also want to thank Enterprise Ireland for inviting us to SXSW to showcase The Giant in front of a distinguished array of guests that included Taoiseach Micheál Martin, Austin Mayor Kirk Watson and Ambassador Geraldine Nason.”
More than a sculpture
The motto of the Giant, Awaken the Giant in You, is vividly realised as visitors are scanned and transformed into Giants. Beyond being a sculpture, The Giant is a transformative attraction that engages audiences, inspires communities, and presents unique opportunities for brand storytelling.
It represents innovation and creativity, setting a new global standard for experiential entertainment while showcasing top-tier Irish technological and artistic talent.
“SXSW presents an incredible opportunity to showcase The Giant and the innovative technology that it incorporates,” adds Dunning. “We are honored to join other Irish based companies and thank Enterprise Ireland for their ongoing support.”
The Giant Company will provide virtual reality (VR) headsets on-site, enabling guests to view what the statue looks like when it is completely constructed. Standing at 75 feet, this three-dimensional digital sculpture features advanced LED skin and is accompanied by two large video walls.
The Giant employs patented content management and scanning technologies that enable visitors to be scanned and integrated into the statue, resulting in an extraordinary selfie experience.
“Our team was thrilled to come to Austin for SXSW and showcase The Giant at Ireland House,” says Eric Fraad, director of development at The Giant Company.
“Enterprise Ireland continues to be an outstanding partner, and we appreciate their support for our team to showcase this unique fusion of art and technology and have the opportunity to awaken The Giant within.”
The Giant Company is creating a global network of interconnected Giants. This initiative offers opportunities for shared content, synchronised events, and international collaborations. Audiences will be able to enjoy simultaneous product launches, global icon appearances, and interactive moments that unite people worldwide.
