Vennersys upgrades ticketing at Clevedon Pier

Vennersys Case Study - Clevedon Pier

The UK seaside attraction is now more efficient and ready for guests

Vennersys, the integrated ticketing, retail and visitor management company, has implemented ticketing system enhancements for a historical pier landmark.

Found in the UK county of Somerset, Clevedon Pier is a Victorian seaside pier on the eastern bank of the Severn Estuary. The Clevedon Pier & Heritage Trust needed to upgrade its ticketing management system to allow for an integrated marketing, operational and commercial programme.

Following a value-determining process by the trust’s board, Vennersys was selected as the preferred software provider against eight other ticketing management candidates.

Using VenposCloud, the pier can now process gift aid donations with an integrated postcode look-up feature, with optional donations processable at various points of sale. The ticketing and admission module prompts extra revenue by providing two ticket options – one with and one without an additional donation.

The pier also offers a selection of annual passes, therefore requiring the membership management module. The feature allows Clevedon Pier & Heritage Trust to easily manage passes, reduce admin time and redeem sold tickets quickly.

Clevedon Pier & Heritage Trust chairman Phil Curme says: “Vennersys have offered excellent support from the very beginning, always open for discussions and ever ready with suggestions on how to improve our business practices and take full advantage of their innovative system.

“VenposCloud is an extremely flexible software which allows us to do things we could not do before with our previous system, and it lets us modernise our processes – helping us to upgrade our offering to visitors and improving their overall experience.”

Enhancing the strategy

With the addition of other modules and support from the Vennersys team, Clevedon Pier & Heritage Trust plans to improve its processes across the attraction by making strategic business decisions that target its preferred audience and increase sales.

“The reporting feature has been key in helping the commercial team to find new growth opportunities and increase our revenue,” adds Curme.

Vennersys business development manager Stuart Ward says: “It is an honour to be working closely with such a wonderful and historic attraction like Clevedon Pier & Heritage Trust. We took this challenge with excitement and best interest towards the Pier to not only meet but exceed their expectations and help them modernise their operations to current industry standards.

“We look forward to what this partnership will bring in the future and, in the meantime, we will always look for ways to improve the system to meet their needs.”

Vennersys has recently looked at how museums and cultural institutions can recover following the recent pandemic, particularly the aspects of attendance, cost-efficiency and staffing.
