Visit Group strengthens Nordic leadership position with acquisition of GODO

News
Visit Group acquires GODO

Visit Group, a specialist in creating digital solutions tailored to the attractions and tourism industries, has acquired GODO, Iceland’s leading hospitality software.

The move strengthens Visit Group’s Nordic leadership and is set to accelerate the company’s growth. By combining GODO’s established presence in Iceland with Visit Group’s existing ecosystem, it opens up ways to better serve clients in Nordic markets and beyond.

Visit Group merger announcement

Magnus Emilson, founder and executive chairman of Visit Group, says: “The acquisition marks a strategic milestone for Visit Group as it reinforces our leadership position in the Nordic region and accelerates our mission to create a unified platform that drives direct sales, cost efficient distribution, operational excellence, and profitability for the hospitality and experience industry.”

“GODO is a fantastic addition to the Visit Group family,” says Richard Wiegmann, CEO of Visit Group. “They share our vision, our values, and our commitment to driving growth and innovation for our customers.

“Together, we will strengthen our offering, expand into new markets, and continue to deliver best-in-class solutions for the industry.”

Shared vision

GODO’s Travia connectivity tool will be integrated into the Visit Group ecosystem.

By connecting suppliers with travel agencies and tour operators in real time, Travia helps clients optimise occupancy, simplify contracting, and minimise manual work. Its integration will improve Visit Group’s distribution capabilities and provide better value for its users through more automated, scalable, and profitable sales channels.

Sveinn Pálsson, co-founder of GODO, says: “We are delighted to become part of Visit Group. They share our customer-centric vision, and our products complement Visit’s offering superbly.

“This will accelerate our growth in the Nordics and increase the depth of solutions to our existing clients. Together, we can continue to elevate the guest experience while enabling our customers to boost revenue and operational efficiency.”

With this acquisition, the two companies enhance their ability to drive customer revenue, provide seamless visitor experiences, and help organisations deliver unforgettable journeys for their guests.

Earlier this year, Visit Group announced a strategic partnership with Brittany Ferries, one of Europe’s leading ferry operators, to quicken the company’s digital transformation and enhance its customer experience. This collaboration signifies a major advancement for both companies as they work together to modernise travel and holiday booking experiences.
