Alton Towers already offers Bluey hotel rooms and meet-and-greets

Alton Towers in the UK is developing the world’s first Bluey roller coaster for its CBeebies Land, due to open in spring 2026.

The new junior coaster will be themed to the hit animated preschool TV brand Bluey, which has gained millions of fans across the globe since launching in Australia in 2018.

Bluey is the top show on CBeebies in the UK and has been streamed more than 770 million times since it launched on BBC iPlayer.

“I’m excited to finally announce our new Bluey coaster in CBeebies Land at Alton Towers Resort – the first Bluey coaster in the world,” said Sabrina de Carvalho, senior vice president of UK attractions at Merlin Entertainments.

“We can’t wait to welcome Bluey fans and young families from all over the world to the resort,” she added.

“We’re keeping the exact details and launch date under wraps for now but Bluey’s limitless energy is sure to be reflected in our new junior coaster.”

At Alton Towers, the new ride will join existing Bluey offerings, including the Heeler family meet-and-greet and live stage show.

It also comes after the opening of Alton Towers’ Bluey-themed hotel rooms in May 2024 as part of the resort’s 10-year anniversary celebrations for CBeebies land.

“Loveable and inexhaustible Bluey has captured the hearts of children and adults alike all over the world and we are excited that our much-loved brand is getting its first-ever roller coaster at Alton Towers Resort,” said Natasha Spence, events director, live entertainment at BBC Studios.

“Alongside the resort’s bespoke Bluey-themed hotel rooms, we can’t wait to see fans enjoy the new attraction.”

Bluey is created and written by Joe Brumm and produced by Ludo Studio for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and BBC Studios.

In December, the Bluey’s World immersive experience opened in Brisbane, Australia.
