Creative Studio Berlin, the experiential design firm, has launched the Wiesenwalzer teacup ride at Eis-Greissler Erlebnispark in Austria.
The theme park in Krumbach has added the Wiesenwalzer as part of a planned extension dubbed Land Liebe, which celebrates the love of the countryside.
Nostalgic charm
The original blue-sky concept was designed by Chris Lange and the team at Creative Studio Berlin (CSB) and brings an antique china-themed teacup ride to a charming pavilion in Bücklige Welt’s verdant landscape. Each teacup has been individually crafted to evoke nostalgia and remind guests of their grandparents’ coffee set.
CSB guided the project from blue sky to concept, schematic, and production to create a ride that is deeply connected to the local area. Wiesenwalzer brings together the traditional Austrian waltz with the essence of the Bücklige Welt, an area also known as ‘Humpbacked World’ in reference to its beloved rolling hills.
Fabian Blochberger, entertainment and marketing manager at Eis Greissler, says: “Working with Chris and the CSB team on our new teacup ride was a great experience.
“Chris brought a lot of creativity to the project, and the collaboration was both professional and enjoyable. It was a smooth process from start to finish, and I really appreciated the positive and solution-oriented approach. Thanks to the whole CSB team!”

The new ride joins existing attractions at Eis-Greissler such as the Milchshaker drop tower, Bucklebahn roller coaster, and Wolkenfänger jets.
Richly detailed design
Key features of the Wiesenwalzer ride include:
- A new approach to the central tea can. For the first time, MACK Rides has removed the lid of the central can from its iconic teacup ride. This has been reimagined by CSB as an impromptu flower vase, filled with oversized flowers.
- Atmospheric storytelling elements. The ride’s decor includes musical instruments, mismatched china sets, and vintage wedding photos. These details enhance the pavilion’s atmosphere and suggest a place where visitors have been waltzing for generations.
- Bespoke stained glass windows. CSB has designed the windows to sit in the upper tier of the pavilion, in a refined feature that is beautiful from both inside and out.
- Gold-leaf detailing. Several cups are decorated using delicate gold leaf, adding an elegant tone that fits the ride’s narrative.
- Individually designed teacups. Each cup was designed by CSB and hand-painted by an art team in Germany.
- Musical composition. Supported by IMA Score.
Fran Rossini, senior producer from CSB, says: “This was an incredible opportunity to not only work in this beautiful environment, but to learn so much about the local traditions of the Bücklige Welt and be a part of bringing them to life with the Wiesenwalzer.
“It is truly a ride we are proud of and give a big thanks to MACK Rides and the team at Eis
Greissler with their local collaborators for forging our design into reality.”
Earlier this month, CSB celebrated the opening of a new immersive experience in the authentic “secret laboratory” of Schloss Augustusburg. This attraction takes students and young adults on a journey to the Renaissance period in Saxony, during the time of Elector August and Anna of Saxony.
