Disney Cruise Line has shared a new look at the Cask & Cannon, a lounge on the Disney Destiny inspired by the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disney parks.
Via a blog post, visiting the Cask & Cannon will feel like “entering a true pirate’s tavern filled with trinkets, treasures, and a trove of Easter eggs inspired by the iconic Disney parks attractions”.
The pub will be decked out in wooden planks to resemble the interior of a pirate ship, and outfitted with mismatched furniture and antiques.
Nautical motifs and pirate iconography will be found throughout the bar, from treasure maps and fishing nets to barrel stools, rum bottles, and skull and crossbones symbols.
Guests will discover details in the intricate carvings framing the bar’s portholes, while the ceiling features a treasure map of the Caribbean Sea based on original artwork by legendary Disney artist and animator Marc Davis.
Pirates of the Caribbean-themed lounge
In addition, the bar includes a few nods to the film series, like the stacked treasure chests that form the bar front, which are themed to the treasure rooms and Captain’s Quarters in the films.
Woven into the carpet design will be each of the pirate lords’ pieces of eight, as well as Jack Sparrow’s compass.
Last month, the Disney Destiny floated out of the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. It sets sail from Fort Lauderdale in Florida in November.
Inspired by Disney’s villains and heroes, the cruise ship will also offer new bars inspired by Cruella de Vil and the Haunted Mansion, a dining experience themed to The Lion King, and a Broadway-style show based on Hercules.
In more news, Disney Cruise Line has started building its latest cruise ship, the fourth in its Wish class and due to start sailing from 2027.
