Disney has released more information for visitors about the phased reopening of Disney Springs at Walt Disney World Resort. The attraction is set to welcome guests amid the outbreak of COVID-19.
Disney Springs is reopening on May 20, the first step in the phased reopening of Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.
Some third-party operators will reopen this week, while Disney-owned venues World of Disney, D-Luxe Burger (mobile order) and the Marketplace Co-Op will reopen on May 27.

Parking and entrances – During the initial phase, guests will be directed to self-park in the Orange and Lime Garages. All surface lots will be closed. Disney Springs entrances are limited to four locations – Orange and Lime Garages, and the Hotel Plaza Boulevard pedestrian bridge and ride share location.
Face coverings – Guests over the age of three, as well as cast members and employees, will be required to wear a face covering over their nose and mouth at all times, except when sitting at a dining table.
Temperature screenings – Guests will be required to undergo temperature screenings. Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 degrees or higher will be screened again and denied entry, alongside the rest of their party, if the reading comes back at 100.4 degrees.
Physical distancing and capacity measures – During the initial phase, Disney Springs will limit the number of guests to maintain social distancing. There will be ground markings and physical barriers.
Cleaning – Disney has increased cleaning and disinfection procedures in high-traffic areas, and will provide hand-washing stations and hand sanitiser.
Cashless transactions – Disney recommends that visitors use cashless payment options whenever possible.
In addition, cast members are being extensively trained and will be available throughout the attraction to explain the new procedures and answer questions.
Meanwhile, Disney has posted a disclaimer on its website, which reads: “An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death.
“By visiting Walt Disney World Resort, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19,” the statement concludes.
