Entech Innovative Engineering, an award-winning fabrication studio based in Florida, has already completed several projects in the themed entertainment industry this year and is continuing to expand its footprint beyond theme parks.

The firm’s journey in engineering excellence extends into diverse avenues, including science centres and museums, experiential marketing, speciality architecture projects and more, as it works to redefine the possibilities of immersive experiences across various industries.

Museums, themed entertainment & more

Entech has completed various performance architectural projects, from 36 fibreglass cars on the side of a parking garage to dynamic steel structures. A recent key example is a project for the thriving Miami Design District called Expression.Service.Essence, designed by Dr. Samuel Ross. With a strong foundation in innovation, Entech Innovative Engineering gladly partnered with DACRA once more to realise Ross’s inspiring concepts. Entech delved into the specifics of structural analysis, viability, and usability after receiving Ross’s 3D ideas.

Relationships with clients and partnerships are essential to long-term success in this industry. Entech recently assisted with the transformational fireplace for the award-winning Legends of Luna Experience at Great Wolf Lodge Perryville (pictured, top). The company has a strong relationship with the world-renowned BRC Imagination Arts and was called on to engineer and make the moving picture within the grand fireplace that changed between a static picture and a projection screen to blend in perfectly with the show.

Additionally, partnerships with museums and science centres have grown to be essential components of Entech’s offerings. It can create engaging, informative, and cost-effective displays. Two examples include its SkyCycle High Wire Bicycle Exhibit, which is located in Science Centres across the US and even as far as Taiwan, and a multi-level climbing structure for the National Children’s Museum.

The company is a member of the Association of Science and Technology Centres (ASTC), the American Alliance of Museums (AAM), and the Association of Children’s Museums (ACM).

Experiential marketing

The last area of Entech’s services is experiential marketing, which combines its dedication to innovation with a cooperative effort from its partners to produce activations that surpass expectations. Collaborating with prominent brand marketing firms like George P. Johnson, Xperience, MC2, Czarnowski, and others, it creates cost-effective specialty-engineered experiences.

Entech welcomes the challenge of bringing brands to life in a fresh and original way. For example, it has been collaborating with Margaritaville for over 20 years, designing intricately themed moving and static props for its dozens of retail stores, hotels, airport bars, and restaurant locations. The goal is to infuse any area with an “island-time” feel.

By combining design-thinking and visual flair, Entech created some of Margaritaville’s most recognisable icons, such as the 30-foot-tall Statue of Liberty raising a margarita glass and the Margarita Blender, which is emblazoned at the entrance to every Margaritaville restaurant.

The company also worked with the iconic Toys “R” Us brand. It was responsible for the 60-foot Ferris wheel, the focal point of the 100,000-square-foot Toys “R” Us Times Square flagship store in New York. The Ferris wheel, which was created, developed, manufactured, and built by Entech, has 14 specially themed gondolas that each symbolise a different childhood toy and unique lighting effects.

Earlier this year, as it rounded off its 30th-anniversary celebrations, Entech reflected on its history in the themed entertainment industry. Looking ahead, it is currently working on numerous projects, including supporting Universal’s new park, Epic Universe.
