Dark Nights is Hersheypark’s largest investment in a seasonal event to date.

Hersheypark is introducing the new ‘Dark Nights’ haunt experience as part of this year’s Halloween event, offering three spine-chilling scare zones and four horrifying haunted houses.

Dark Nights at Hersheypark Halloween is the park’s largest investment in a seasonal event to date. It begins on 17 September and is available through 30 October.

The four haunted houses are ‘Haunted Coal Mine’, ‘The Descent’, ‘Creature Chaos’ and ‘Twisted Darkness’. The three scare zones are ‘Darkstone’s Hollow’, ‘Valley of Fear’ and ‘Midway of Misery’.

Haunted Coal Mine is described as a “daring trek through the abandoned mine”, while The Descent takes place in the dark underground tunnels beneath Hersheypark.

Haunted houses and scare zones

Guests will take on Pennsylvania’s “most fearful and deadly creatures” in Creature Chaos, and in Twisted Darkness they will be “forced into a never-ending carnival of nightmares”.

Darkstone’s Hollow features an array of mythical creatures”, and guests are watched by “dreadful beings” in Valley of Fear. Visitors are “summoned through a sinister gateway” during Midway of Misery.

To bring the event to life, Hersheypark has partnered with industry leaders such as RWS Entertainment Group, Adirondack Studios and EPIC Entertainment Group.

RWS Entertainment Group, a creator of award-winning custom entertainment, is casting the park’s ‘scare crew’, producing eerie live entertainment and creating creepy costumes and make-up.

Adirondack Studios, a provider of creative solutions for designers, artists, producers, and owners, developed the design, fabrication and installation of the Dark Nights haunted houses.

EPIC Entertainment Group, a producer of themed entertainment, live events, and immersive environments, is delivering an immersive haunted house experience and a chilling scare zone.

Guests need to purchase a separate Dark Nights add-on ticket to gain unlimited access to the haunted houses. Scare zones are included with a general admission ticket to Hersheypark Halloween.

Additional spooky season attractions include lights-out coaster rides, the Treatville trick-or-treat trail, dance parties and a flashlight tour.
