World of Frozen is opening later this year at Hong Kong Disneyland.

Disney has shared new footage and images of its Frozen Ever After boat ride, part of the world’s first Frozen-themed land at Hong Kong Disneyland.

Opening in November 2023, World of Frozen is the theme park‘s largest expansion to date. It features two new attractions – Frozen Ever After and Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs.

Walt Disney Imagineering has released a video of a test ride on the former, which Michael Moriarty, managing director of Hong Kong Disneyland, describes as “an absolute dream come true”.

“This marvellous boat ride is an absolute dream come true, and we were amazed at how the story, music, and lights came together so well (plus the big surprise),” Moriarty wrote alongside the video on Instagram.

On Twitter, Disney shared new images of the ride, writing: “Upon completing your journey, Anna, Elsa and Olaf will be waiting to welcome voyagers back, hand in hand, from their visit to the North Mountain.

“But before this marvellous boat ride to Elsa’s ice palace, you’ll pass the office of Kristoff, who’s now the official ice master and deliverer, and lanterns glowing over the royal deck.”

World’s first Frozen-themed land

Last month, Disney released new images and footage of Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs, its first-ever Frozen-themed coaster.

Prior to that, Hong Kong Disneyland shared new drone footage of the Frozen land, and unveiled an enhanced audio-animatronic figure of Elsa.

World of Frozen is inspired by Arendelle village, home to Elsa’s Ice Palace, the North Mountain and Arendelle Castle.

It is the first of three Frozen experiences coming to Disney’s theme parks. Frozen is part of the Fantasy Springs expansion at Tokyo DisneySea, and another Frozen land is under construction at Disneyland Paris.

In more news, Disneyland has unveiled its upcoming Pixar Place Hotel – the first Pixar-themed hotel in the US.
