IAAPA welcomes John Hallenbeck as VP North American Operations

The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) has announced the appointment of John Hallenbeck to the role of Vice President of North American Operations.

john hallenbeck VP North American Operations iaapaHallenbeck will lead the association’s North American office in Orlando. He will be responsible for overseeing membership engagement, growth, and service of IAAPA’s largest region, representing more than 3,500 members.

“As we continue to expand and strengthen the support we offer our members, we are thrilled to have John join the team,” commented Doug Stagner, Chief Operating Officer, IAAPA.

“John brings a wealth of global attractions knowledge to the role. His extensive industry background and strong leadership skills will be key assets as he serves and supports our members in North America.”

Hallenbeck brings over 25 years’ themed entertainment experience

John Hallenbeck brings more than 25 years of themed entertainment experience to the table with much of his career spent at Universal Parks & Resorts. He served with the company in various capacities in Orlando, Hollywood, and Osaka, Japan and was Senior Vice President of Attractions for Universal Studios Singapore, Southeast Asia Aquarium, Adventure Cove, and Dolphin Island located within Resorts World Sentosa in Singapore.

Most recently, he served as Managing Director of Project Development at Hershey Entertainment & Resorts.

Hallenback has a long association with IAAPA, having served as chair of the IAAPA Education Sub-Committee for the Asia Pacific region, He has also been a member of IAAPA’s Asia Pacific Regional Advisory Committee.

Founded as an advocacy office in 1918, the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) has evolved into the largest international trade association for permanently located attractions dedicated to the preservation and prosperity of the global attractions industry.

IAAPA represents more than 5,300 attraction, supplier, and individual members from more than 100 countries. Members include professionals from amusement parks, theme parks, attractions; water parks, resorts; FECs; zoos, aquariums; science centres, museums; and industry manufacturers and suppliers.
