Faszinatour, the European distributor of Sky Trail® ropes courses for leading US manufacturer, Ropes Courses, Inc., has installed two new ropes courses in the German Alps.
The Sky Trail® and its baby brother, Sky Tykes® , will be operated by Alpsee Immenstadt Tourism and positioned as ‘the mountain for beginners’.
“Alpsee Skytrail is the first and largest station for beginners to realise their self-confidence and find perseverance they’ll need for their adventure quests, ” explained Alfred Becker, CEO of Alpsee Immenstadt Tourism. “It allows you to explore your surefootedness and vertigo before you take on Great Alpsee.”
The 8 column Alpsee Sky Trail® Explorer is 13 meters tall with 3 levels of elements of varying design and difficulty. Challenges include the vertical rope ladder, cargo net, deep Burma buckets, zig-zag beams and the crisscross walk where guests can put their physical balance and fear of heights to the test.
The ropes courses’ overhead track is specially designed to allow freedom of movement from element to element and between levels without the need to unclip participants’ safety harnesses and redundant sling lines.
The 6 column Sky Tykes® course (above left) has been designed for younger adventurers, and stands at just 2.4 meters tall with the elements less than 1m from the ground. Children are secured with the same safety harness and sling lines that the Sky Trail® participants wear. Parents can either assist their children or stand back and let them take on the challenge independently.
“Immenstadt will benefit from the Sky Trail® and Sky Tykes® destination appeal, ” adds Faszinatour project manager, Thomas Kracker. “These attractions draw in families with kids 2-18 years of age and large group tours.”
