Universal Studios Japan has released a new image of the world’s first Super Nintendo World. The expansion will feature Peach’s Castle and Bowser’s Castle, as well as state-of-the-art Mario Kart and Yoshi rides.
The new image (above) from Universal Studios Japan (USJ) shows a highly-themed, expansive, multi-level land. It will include various rides, attractions, shops and a restaurant.
USJ has confirmed that attractions include Super Mario Kart and Yoshi’s Adventure rides. The image also reveals Peach’s Castle and Bowser’s Castle.
Super Nintendo World, which originated in Japan, will feature Nintendo’s worlds and characters. Guests will feel as if they’re inside their favourite Nintendo games.
Super Nintendo World to boost attendance at USJ
According to a press release from USJ, Super Nintendo World is expected to boost attendance at the theme park.
Dr Katsuhiro Miyamoto, Professor Emeritus of Kansai University, Japan, estimates that the economic impact on USJ during the first 10 years of Super Nintendo World’s opening will be around 6,200 billion yen in the Kinki region, and around 11,700 billion yen nationwide.
Super Nintendo World is opening in 2020 at Universal Studios Japan, in time for Tokyo 2020. More Nintendo attractions are in the pipeline for Florida and California.
Previously, chairman and CEO of Universal Parks & Resorts, Tom Williams, said Super Nintendo World will be coming to all Universal Parks over the next few years, bar Universal Studios Beijing.

He also said the attraction will be interactive, with Nintendo-themed magnetic wristbands and possible Nintendo Switch integration.
Earlier this year, scale model photos of Super Nintendo World leaked online, suggesting the expansion will eventually include a Donkey Kong Country area.
Meanwhile, construction images of Super Nintendo World at USJ recently emerged, before new concept art of the attraction at Universal’s Epic Universe surfaced.
