‘The Horrors of Blumhouse’ is a haunted house inspired by Freaky and The Black Phone.

Blumhouse’s bloodthirsty brands are back for this year’s Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood.

‘The Horrors of Blumhouse’, a new haunted house inspired by Blumhouse’s Freaky and The Black Phone, will be on offer from 2 September at Universal Orlando and 8 September at Universal Studios Hollywood.

Founded by Jason Blum, Blumhouse is a film and TV production company known for its horror movies. These include Creep, Paranormal Activity, The Invisible Man and Get Out.

Universal’s Blumhouse-themed haunted house “will transport guests into an alternate dimension where the scares are real and the stakes are life or death”, says a news release.

In Universal’s The Black Phone experience, guests will meet ‘The Grabber’, described in the release as a “demented magician best known for his sinister trick of making people disappear – permanently”.

Horror fans will find themselves trapped in his ‘funhouse’ where “the sound of ghostly voices whisper hints on how to escape”. Guests must outwit and outrun The Grabber.

During the Freaky experience, guests will need to escape a serial killer called ‘The Butcher’ who has switched bodies with a high school girl after being cursed by an ancient Aztec blade.

Guests will learn firsthand that looks can be deceiving as they encounter the sweet-looking teen who is actually The Butcher – and she is determined to hunt for their next victims,” says Universal.

Guests at this year’s Halloween Horror Nights will also come face to face with the menacing and murderous Michael Myers from John Carpenter’s classic 1978 slasher film, Halloween.

In addition, Universal Pictures’ Dracula, The Wolf Man and The Mummy are uniting for the first time ever for the new ‘Universal Monsters: Legends Collide’ haunted house.

Halloween Horror Nights runs through 31 October in Florida and California.
