Universal Destinations & Experiences is already inviting suppliers to register their interest in its proposed UK theme park near Bedford.
In April, a multibillion-pound deal was agreed for the new theme park in Bedfordshire, first announced in December 2023 after Universal bought a 476-acre parcel of land in the county.
Although Universal is yet to submit a formal planning application, companies can register their interest in becoming a supplier for the destination via this form.
The form says: “Should the project receive planning consent, it is expected that there will be a significant number of opportunities for businesses created across a range of different sectors.
“We’re committed to advertising these to local businesses and will engage with the community at the appropriate time.”
The form notes that it “may be some time before these opportunities become available”.
Universal yet to submit plans for Bedford park
Universal’s planned UK park could generate nearly £50 billion for the economy during construction and the first 20 years of operations, according to an economic impact analysis commissioned by Universal Destinations & Experiences.
Construction would also create a total of 20,000 jobs, and the resort could create 8,000 new jobs once up and running.
Plans for the world-class theme park include multiple immersive areas, thrilling rides, cutting-edge attractions and spectacular entertainment, all powered by advanced technology.
The initial resort concept includes a 500-room hotel alongside retail, dining, and entertainment options.
