Convious, a leading eCommerce platform for the leisure industry, has helped optimised revenue and business operations at a park in Portugal.
Amarante Water Park, part of Looping Group, transformed its business operations and optimised revenue by switching its eCommerce operations to the Convious attractions management platform last year.
Amarante Water Park has embraced Convious’s flexible ticketing solution and dynamic pricing initiative, enhancing performance and delivering measurable results.
The largest mountain waterpark in the Iberian Peninsula, Amarante Water Park can be found near the city of Porto. The attraction boasts more than 44,000 square metres of rides, slides and pools, welcoming thousands of visitors each year.
The water park wanted to provide a flexible purchasing journey for its visitors, giving them more control over their bookings whilst providing the park with additional insight into customer behaviour.
Convious’s all-in-one ticketing solution has helped encourage ticket sales, increase revenue and ensure the park can be responsive to changing visitor numbers.
Maximising revenue potential
In the second year of the partnership, the Water Park has embraced Convious Dynamic Pricing, a built-in feature that allows the venue to automatically update ticket pricing, depending on factors including time of year and historical trends. Pricing can also be changed manually, providing control and flexibility over ticket sales.
The Dynamic Pricing module has played an important role in helping the park to grow its revenue by more than 80% in comparison to the last season pre-COVID in 2019. Dynamic Pricing has allowed Looping Group to increase prices on popular days, generating extra revenue during peak hours and decreasing ticket prices to incentivise ticket purchase on slower days.
Amarante Water Park director Helder Silva says:
“Since introducing Dynamic Pricing we’ve seen a drastic uplift in ticket sales, not just through the high season but during our quieter times throughout the season too. We have seen our online visitor numbers increase from 32,000 in 2019 to 128,000 this year, and our average ticket price has increased by 24%.
“The feature has helped streamline our ticket sales process and transformed how we manage our visitor capacity. We can now analyse robust data so we can plan how many employees need to be on-site for that day for the number of visitors booked in, which is incredibly helpful as seasonal staff work on a flexible schedule.
“We have already rolled out this feature across our sister parks in The Netherlands, Germany and United Kingdom and we are already seeing great results”.
