Indoor Surf Parks on the Crest of an American Wave

News

American Wave Machines reports that business is booming at indoor surf parks in Montreal and New Hampshire.

Operating a pay-per-surf model, the parks attract around 200 surfers daily. Out-of-ocean surfing is becoming increasingly popular among the estimated 3 million active surfers in North America and American Wave Machines claim to be the only company that can create an authentic indoor surfing experience.

Surfs Up, New Hampshire opened in December 2013. The SurfStream from American Wave Machines has a 32ft channel width with waves ranging from 2ft -6ft and is designed to deliver a deep water stationary surfing experience on real surfboards.

The Oasis Surf Center in Montreal opened in 2014 and features a SurfStream with a 24ft channel width and waves ranging from 2ft – 5ft.

Bruce McFarland, President and founder of American Wave Machines says, "New Hampshire and Montreal's SurfStreams are paving the way for urban surfing."

The company has developed more than 15 small and large-scale installations across the world.
