MASSIV Win for WhiteWater and Schlitterbahn as Water Coaster Nets Leading Edge Award

News

Global waterparks expert, WhiteWater, and Schlitterbahn Galveston Island Waterpark have netted a WWA Leading Edge Award for their MASSIV water coaster.

At 24.86 metres, the ride holds the Guinness World Record for the world’s tallest water coaster.

According to WhiteWater, MASSIV is leading edge not just in terms of the ride it delivers but also because it is powered by innovative behind-the-scenes technology.

The company cites its propulsion system, Smart Blast, which was developed by its in-house specialist engineering team.

Made possible by the partnership with Schlitterbahn, the new system saves significant power by only ramping up motor speed when it’s needed to drive riders uphill.

This award is the latest in a number of honours bestowed on the ride since it opened earlier this year.

A global leader in innovative waterpark products and attractions, WhiteWater has completed over 5, 000 projects since the company was founded in 1980.

Earlier this year, WhiteWater was recognised as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies for its excellence in management and business practices.
