Polin Combo Waterslides Boost Attendance at 5-Star French Resort

News

Campsite Le Chateau Vieux resort in France is hoping to attract record-breaking numbers this season thanks to two new combination waterslides by Polin Waterparks.

Installed in May last year, the slides proved a big hit with visitors, boosting attendance at the already popular resort.

Polin designed the 1000m² area of aquatic attractions which includes the first Sphere waterslide in France.

The Sphere/Blackhole Combo launches riders in two-person rafts down a sudden drop, then propels them back and forth, side to side before spitting them out via another steep drop into the Blackhole's enclosed, undulating slide path.

The Space Hole/Aquatube fusion slide delivers one of the longest speed rides available in three sections. First guests race through an enclosed tube into a huge open bowl. Centrifugal force pushes them around the bowl's interior and through the ride's "Space Hole" before they find themselves hurtling along the Aquatube.

Both rides were created using Polin's Resin-Transfer Molding (RTM) composites-production technology and feature colourful graphic effects.

Polin worked with long-time partner, leisure park and outdoor recreation design firm, Edsun Loisirs, on the project.

Campsite Le Chateau Vieux is part of the family-run Sun Marina Villages Club which also owns Campsite Acapulco and Campsite Les Genêts, both in Saint Jean de Monts, France.
