Polin has designed and installed the waterslide for the new Aquaventura Slidepark at Avonturenpark in Hellendoorn, Netherlands.
The waterslides and aquatic attractions are part of a $4 million (€3 million), 5, 000 sq m expansion that opened in July 2013.
The slide park is set to be popular with tweens and younger visitors. Avonturenpark General Manager Lyan van den Bosch, said, "Adding the slide park to our existing park simply broadens the current target group.”
Having relocated several attractions withing the park, Polin Waterparks and Pool Systems have installed 11 new waterslides, each manufactured using Polin’s latest resin-transfer molding (RTM) technology, creating a smooth, shiny finish on both interiors and exteriors the slide's tubes.
The slide park is unusual in that all the waterslides end in dry-out (run-out) sections with no splash pools. The new waterslides include:
- Rafting Slide – Black Hole Combination,
- Wave Slide,
- Body Slide,
- Black Hole,
- Compact Slide,
- Wide Slide,
- Multislide.
Looping Group, owners of Avonturenpark, is now looking to extend the slide park concept to other waterparks within the group, with a new slide park set to open at Isla Magica Park, Spain, in 2014.
Laurent Bruloy, Looping Group's CEO, says, "We always have plans for additions to the parks and will definitely keep on investing in them in the coming years.”
