Leading creator of waterparks and waterslides, Polin Waterparks, has scooped a Leading Edge Award for innovation from the World Waterpark Association.
The award recognises the company’s pioneering waterslide manufacturing technologies including Resin Transfer Moulding (RTM) and Natural Light Effects.
“Our R&D backbone consists of more than 55 engineers in three sub-departments focusing on composites, hydromechanical systems and product design, ” commented Sohret Pakis, Director of Marketing & Communication at Polin Waterparks.
“This is our main strength. I am proud to announce that we are becoming an R&D centre by 2017."
Celebrating 40 years in the industry, Polin continues to invest in the development of new products including its artistic series of finishes. Patterns such as graffiti, wood and metallic effects are created within the fabric of the slides during the manufacturing process.
According to Pakis, these innovations offer Polin’s waterpark partners huge flexibility with their story telling and theming.
Polin last won a Leading Edge Award in 2014 for supplying waterparks attractions to Cartoon Network Amazone Waterpark in Pattaya, Thailand. Pakis says that Polin’s theming technology is transforming individual waterpark attractions into a core element of a waterpark's story – virtually characters in themselves.
“We have changed the way the industry is able to deliver an experience to their guests, " she says.
