Illinois’ biggest waterpark, Raging Waves, has announced that it is installing ProSlide’s TornadoWAVE for the 2016 season.
The extreme ride has won a raft of awards including "best new ride in 2015" and "best European water slide" in 2014.
The Australian-themed park has chosen to call its new attraction ‘Wonambi’ after a pre-historic constrictor snake native to Australia that literally took its prey’s breath away.
"Wonambi truly does take your breath away, ” commented Randy Witt, Raging Waves co-owner. “It is one of the most dynamic and thrilling rides that a waterpark has to offer.”
Riders aboard a four-person raft experience moments of almost zero-gravity as they plunge into high speed, near-vertical drops.
"Raging Waves is all about family and we love that families can enjoy the adrenaline rush of Wonambi together in the large rafts, " reported Dawn Witt, Raging Waves co-owner.
Opened in 2008, Raging Waves is a 45-acre, family-owned waterpark located 45 minutes southwest of Chicago. It will be one of only three waterparks in the US to offer ProSlide’s TornadoWAVE experience.
"When it comes to offering thrills, Raging Waves leads the way in the Midwest, " says Witt.
"Wonambi" is slated to open on Memorial Day weekend, May 28, 2016.
