Therme Group has shared new images and updated plans for Therme Canada, a new C$350 million wellbeing resort at Toronto’s Ontario Place.
Therme Canada plans to create nearly 12 acres of accessible public space, including enhanced trails, a public beach, and new wetlands and aquatic habitats.
The destination will also provide 4.1 acres of green roof space to connect the building to the surrounding natural landscape, as well as restored gathering areas.
New attraction in Toronto

“Having signed a long-term ground lease at Ontario Place, we are delivering on our commitment to create an iconic, global attraction along with new privately funded and maintained public space that will allow everyone to enjoy Ontario Place year-round,” said Mark Lawson, VP of communications and external relations for Therme Canada.
Inside the aquatic attraction, Therme Canada will offer indoor and outdoor pools, waterslides, a wave pool, botanical gardens and areas for relaxation.
Ontario Place is a waterfront location that served as a tourism destination between 1971 and 2012. “The future of Ontario Place will be defined by how successful it can be connecting people to the water,” said Dr Robert Hanea, CEO of Therme Group.
Therme Canada will “play a role in bringing more people back to the waterfront capturing the original spirit of Ontario Place from 50 years ago”, added Hanea.
12 acres of public space

Therme Group has also announced plans for a new wellbeing resort in South Korea, located in the Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ).
The new $200 million attraction will be home to saunas, hot pools, wellness experiences and F&B. It will be inspired by Korean traditions and culture.
Therme Group currently operates four venues in Europe – Badeparadies Schwarzwald, Thermen & Badewelt Sinsheim, and Thermen & Badewelt Euskirchen in Germany, and Therme Bucharest in Romania.
It is developing multiple destinations across the world, including Glasgow, Manchester, New York City and Frankfurt.
