Stephen Hamelin, President and CEO of Vortex Aquatic Structures International, has been named a finalist in the Canadian EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards.
Since founding the company in 1995, Hamelin has transformed his one-man business into a world leading manufacturer of aquatic play landscapes and entertainment solutions, with over 6, 000 installations across the globe. His roster of clients includes Walt Disney Resorts, Ritz-Carlton Hotels and Miami Metro Zoo among many others.
The highly-regarded EY programme rewards the innovation and achievements of Canada’s entrepreneurs. Hamelin is one of three finalists in the manufacturing category, earning his place for creating industry-leading, environmentally-friendly aquatic play solutions and water management systems.
“The EY recognition really belongs to everyone in the company. When families engage with our products we want them to have a wholesome, exciting, fun and memorable play experience in safety. We hold ourselves to the highest standards. We deliver aquatic solutions to meet all of our clients’ needs without compromising on our principle, ” commented Hamelin.
Vortex has already scooped several awards this year, including a 2015 MVP Award from Aquatics International Magazine for its new Watermark product and a GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN Award.
Hamelin added: “At Vortex, our core values support our vision and shape our culture throughout the organisation. Our commitment to integrity and trust, to collaboration and innovation, and above all, to fun.”
