wiegand.waterrides, a leading water rides and attraction provider, has shared details of its 110-meter-long tyre slide, which is a centrepiece of the indoor wave pool at Piorama in Penzberg, Germany.
The comprehensively refurbished family pool has opened to visitors following a three-year construction project. In addition to its family pool, Piorama also features a sauna complex and two restaurants.
Colourful experience
A distinctive element of the recently constructed pool is the 110-meter-long wiegand.waterrides RR1400 tyre slide.
Whilst the exterior of the slide is an understated blue colour, the inside is brightly coloured and features daylight effects. These are created by translucent areas in the GRP. They can be any form or colour and do not require electricity.
The daylight effects increase the feeling of speed for visitors as they travel through the 110-meter curved track aboard single or double tyres. In addition, the slide includes a speed measurement feature which will encourage friendly competition. The current speed record is held by Ludwig Schön, Piorama’s operations manager.
The tyre slide is the first attraction of its type to be installed at the indoor wave pool at Piorama. The slide tower has been designed to accommodate three slides, so the family pool can easily be enhanced in the future.
wiegand.waterrides recently partnered with the Familiamus activity and wellness hotel in the northern Italian Alps. With this playful installation, guests can slide through the 5-star hotel, travelling between floors, across the lobby, and down to breakfast.

It was asked to provide its sustainable and durable stainless steel water slides to the pool to help the operator enhance its capacity.
