Wevr, a creative technology company focused on creating virtual worlds and immersive spatial experiences, is marking a landmark year, having produced five location-based experiences across Asia, Europe, and South America.

Each of these achievements represents a world or regional first and collectively advocates for a new kind of shared, immersive storytelling that screens cannot replicate.

From China's first Emperor's sealed tomb to the whimsical planets of The Little Prince, from Malta's historic shores to Taiwan's underwater seas, Wevr has dedicated the past year to delivering what it terms the new cinema to audiences worldwide.

"We are building a new kind of cinema, one in which you don't watch the story, you step inside it," says Neville Spiteri, co-founder and CEO of Wevr.

"This past year has shown us that audiences around the world are hungry for experiences that move them, that connect them to each other and to the world around them. We are excited to be leading the way into a new era of cinematic experiences."

The Blu: Expedition Taiwan

The most ambitious chapter in The Blu franchise so far, The Blu: Expedition Taiwan, premiered at VIVELAND KW7 at Pier-2 Art Center in Kaohsiung, launched in collaboration with HTC VIVERSE and Taiwan's Ministry of Culture.

Set in Taiwan's subtropical waters, a vital biodiversity hotspot, this experience guides guests through coral reefs, a shipwreck, and a rescue mission to save the endangered Taiwanese white dolphin.

As the first part of Wevr's new global ocean expedition series, more locations and marine areas will be revealed soon.

Director Chiang Ching-Sung of the Department of Cultural and Creative Development at the Ministry of Culture of Taiwan says:

"The Blu: Expedition Taiwan combines XR immersive technology with international content production capabilities, allowing marine conservation, local culture, and historical memory to be experienced in a more immersive and engaging way."

The Blu in Mexico City

In partnership with Fever, Wevr brought The Blu to Mexico City for a three-day pop-up that attracted more than 1,800 visitors.

The experience features three unique remastered underwater scenes, The Reef, The Cove, and The Abyss, each approximately five minutes long, designed to introduce first-time VR users to the wonders of the deep ocean.

The response was powerful: visitors new to headsets were so engrossed that they kept coming back, exploring all three scenes repeatedly before departing. This remastered version highlighted what The Blu does best—allowing guests to gently step into the ocean world, leaving a lasting impression.

The Little Prince: Call to Adventure

The Little Prince: Call to Adventure is the first free-roam, multi-user VR version of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's classic.

In collaboration with HTC VIVERSE, this 45-minute journey guides groups through 16 detailed scenes and encounters with 14 characters, including the Pilot, the Fox, and the Rose, as they explore desert sands, distant planets, and starry skies together.

For the first time, audiences are not just readers or viewers but active participants experiencing the story firsthand as they move through its world.

This debut took place at Es Con Field Hokkaido in December 2025, is currently available in China, and will soon be going global.

Terracotta Warriors: Secrets of the First Emperor's Mausoleum

In collaboration with VIVE Arts, Wevr developed the world's first immersive journey inside Emperor Qin Shi Huang's sealed tomb, offering a historically accurate reconstruction of chambers never before opened in recorded history.

Over the past year, hundreds of thousands of visitors have experienced one of China's most historic sites, strolling amid the legendary Terracotta Army.

"Catch the Wave" — Malta Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka

Commissioned by Malta Enterprise and directed by Spiteri, this multisensory pavilion at Expo 2025 in Osaka attracted over 750,000 visitors in six months.

It showcased a 60x20-foot curved LED facade and a 180-degree immersion chamber that took visitors on an 8,000-year journey through Maltese history, blending spatial audio, dramatic lighting, and AI-enhanced 3D photogrammetry into a cohesive experience.

The pavilion secured third place in the People's Choice Award among more than 100 nations, and its success prompted Wevr to open its European creative branch in Malta in October 2025.

After Expo 2025, the exhibit was relocated to Himeji Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage site, where it drew over 150,000 visitors in the first two months.

These five productions mark a new phase for immersive entertainment. Each was created with the belief that the most compelling stories are not just watched, but experienced firsthand.

As the studio plans future projects and collaborations, Wevr says it will continue to lead a global shift toward a new kind of cinema, one that places audiences inside the story rather than simply watching it.
