wiegand.waterrides, a leading water rides and attraction provider, has supplied a range of slides for the Norwegian Aura, the latest addition to Norwegian Cruise Line's (NCL's) fleet, which is set to debut in May 2027.
Bookings for the vessel, which will offer the most waterslides of any NCL ship to date, opened last month.
With a focus on family-centred experiences and reimagined passenger favourites, a key feature is the first-in-the-fleet Ocean Heights open-air activity zone, which will provide entertainment, excitement, and relaxation day and night.
Harry Sommer, president and chief executive officer of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd, says: "We are proud to introduce the newest, and largest, addition to our fleet, Norwegian Aura.
"Norwegian Aura represents the evolution of Norwegian Cruise Line and the celebration of bringing together families, friends and travelers from around the world."
Featuring wiegand.waterrides attractions
Norwegian Aura will feature the most slides of any NCL ship, with five situated within the vast open-air complex, Ocean Heights.
Among its standout rides are products from wiegand.waterrides, including:
- Eclipse Racers. At over 120 metres (400 feet) long, NCL's first-ever duelling mat racer waterslides will offer a thrilling head-to-head competition in FRP tubular slides.
- The Wave. The first large Lotus element at sea, this pendulum-style raft attraction seats four riders per group.
- The Drop. A returning passenger favourite, The Drop freefall dry slide is currently unique to NCL, and plunges guests down 10 decks, from 18 to eight.

In addition to water attractions, Ocean Heights' experiences will include an 82-foot ropes course, rock climbing, a nine-hole mini golf course, and the Vibe Beach Club bar, among others.
In December, wiegand.waterrides was recognised at IAAPA's Brass Ring Awards for the Slide Coaster. The world's first combination roller coaster and water slide, Slide Coaster debuted on the NCL ship Norwegian Aqua in March last year.
