BBC Studios and Escape Hunt have partnered to create a new Doctor Who escape room, called ‘Doctor Who: A Dalek Awakens’. The attraction launches in the UK in March 2020.
This is the second partnership between Escape Hunt and BBC Studios, who previously teamed up on ‘Doctor Who: World’s Collide’.
A Dalek Awakens can now be booked at Escape Hunt Reading and Birmingham Resorts World. More venues, including Norwich and Basingstoke, are opening through 2020.
“We are delighted to be creating a second game, Doctor Who: A Dalek Awakens, with BBC Studios following the success of our first game with them, Doctor Who: World’s Collide,” said Richard Harpham, CEO, Escape Hunt.
“Doctor Who has a loyal and dedicated fan base, which we have seen from the success of our first game, so to be able to bring some variety to the public with a brand new and innovative game centred around the iconic Dalek characters is an exciting prospect for Escape Hunt,” added Harpham.
“We look forward to bringing the new game to life at Escape Hunt venues across the UK.”

Teams of up to six will board a doomed spaceship invaded by the Dalek, who has tapped into the power system and is preparing to exterminate all in its path.
Players can stop the Dalek by shutting down the spaceship’s power, which means shutting down the ship’s life support system and risking the lives of 10,000 people on board.
Doctor Who: A Dalek Awakens gives guests 60 minutes to solve the puzzles, resolve the situation and prevent disaster before the time runs out.
A Dalek Awakens launches at Escape Hunt Reading on March 9 and at Birmingham Resorts World on March 11.
BBC Studios and Immersive Everywhere also recently announced an immersive Doctor Who experience, debuting in London in 2020.
Elsewhere, Ubisoft is resurrecting classic video game Prince of Persia as a virtual reality (VR) escape room. Prince of Persia: The Dagger of Time is launching in spring 2020.
