August Moon Drive-In, an indoor replica of a 1960s American drive-in movie theatre, is set to open in Nashville next year.
According to Variety, the city is seen as a good fit with the theatre’s retro Americana vibe.
The $10 million project features a 40,000-square-foot, air-supported dome enhanced with a simulated starry sky. Seating will be provided in modified classic cars.
The screen is being billed as the largest non-IMAX movie screen in North America.
August Moon is being created and designed by Michael Counts whose credits include New York escape room ‘Paradiso: Chapter 1’ and ‘The Walking Dead Experience’.
The new movie theatre will seat around 350 guests and is scheduled to open in 2018.
