PGAV Destinations, a global leader in the planning and design of unique destinations, has promoted Jim Duckwitz to Vice President of Finance.
Jim Duckwitz was previously Controller for PGAV Destinations. In his new role, he will lead the company’s Accounting and Finance department. He will review and update employee benefits, deal with insurance renewals, evaluate contracts and ensure the company is compliant with all rules and regulations for its projects around the world.
“Jim has demonstrated an impressive dedication to creative thinkgin and innovation in growing collaboration, firm-wide efficiency, and transparency in communication,” said PGAV CEO, Mike Konzen. “He has proven to be an empathetic and collaborative leader of his team, and we’re eager to support Jim in his continued growth and vision of PGAV’s future.”
The importance of collaboration
During his time as PGAV Controller, Duckwitz headed-up the initiative for the accounting department to transition to digital assets. This modernised the division as well as appealing to the client’s business preferences. The department has recently moved to new office space during the St. Louis studio’s 2018 renovation. This space is more open and so allows for more collaboration within the team.
Duckwitz said that “the success of our department relies on open communication, collaboration, and bringing any idea to the table that could help us work more efficiently or deliver better results. In my new role, I’m able to share the Controller responsibilities throughout the rest of our team, which enables me more time to think outside the box for what-if scenarios, contingency plans, and blue-sky innovation.”
Looking forward, Duckwitz and his team are going to streamline the company’s operations. They will talk with clients, staff and industry peers to establish the best way to improve. They want to simplify reporting softwar for their architects and designers so that “they can focus on what they do best: desiging the greatest projectes in the world.”
PGAV Destinations recently announced the opening of the St Louis Aquarium at Union Station.
