QLINE Consulting, a specialist consultancy in ticketing, tourism and technology, has created an opportunity for teams dealing with smaller marketing budgets to advance their attraction communications and develop revenue growth.

Venues can now receive a meticulously designed and user-friendly website courtesy of The Shoestring Project which has been launched by the firm. QLINE Consulting’s Carly Straughan has teamed up with Small Business Sidekick to help small attractions create an effective website with a simple and streamlined process.

Marketing experts

A self-confessed tourism software guru, Straughan (featured top) is an expert in ticketing and till technology, helping attractions to deliver improved ROI from every aspect of their digital setups.

Straughan began QLINE Consulting with the intention of being involved in a wide range of events that proactively support the tourism sector; such as creating tourism-focused podcasts to support academics at the beginning of their careers. She has previously worked with organisations including Merlin Entertainments and Hollywood Bowl.

Her partner for the project is also the founder of Small Business Sidekick. Lauren Groves assists small organisations to develop their digital presence and take ownership of their online profiles. As a member of the Squarespace Circle, Groves believes that creating an online profile should be both simple and cost-effective.

Step-by-step

All websites delivered through The Shoestring Project will be managed by an intuitive Content Management System (CMS), which is responsive across different device types. The duo will provide an initial audit to find out how your visitors use the attraction’s site, as well as training on how to use the CMS. The scheme uses a simple three-step process:

  1. The current attraction website will be audited, examining what already works well, and where improvements and optimisations should be made.
  2. A proposed site map will be created, and if the attraction team agrees, then current copy and imagery will be used to create a brand-new optimised website.
  3. The attraction’s marketing team will then be shown how they can easily make changes to the site, ensuring long-term relevance and effectiveness.

Further optional support is also available from QLINE Consulting, such as analytics management and content creation, for a low hourly fee.

As The Shoestring Project launches, three levels of pricing are currently being offered for prospective clients: £750, £1000 and £1350 plus hosting fees, excluding tax.

Pricing will depend on the level of functionality and assistance required, which can be discussed with the QLINE Consulting team. Further details can be found on the company website.
