Scruffy Dog Group, a leading creative design company, has appointed Jim Bowen as the new Global Business Development Director for its creative division.

His role will be to expand the global creative division, and he will report directly to CEO Joe Bright. Bowen has 25 years experience in the entertainment and real estate industry and is moving from Canada to London. He started in the industry early on in life, as his father was one of the original partners at IMAX.

“Scruffy Dog brings a fresh, creative approach to the industry and has great potential to grow,” says Bowen. “I’m pleased to join them at such an exciting time in the company.”

During Bowen’s career, he has supervised the expansion of DI Design and Development Group in Singapore. He then designed and planned over 30 mixed-use retail developments. He gave advice and research to many of Singapore’s property developers. This led to him becoming vice president of development for TrizecHahn, a commercial real estate developer in Hong Kong and Tokyo.

An extensive career

Bowen has also been the international director of development for IMC Group, a shipping company that also has real estate investments in China. He was previously the Regional Director for Forrec, an entertainment design company, for five years based in Singapore and then Shanghai. At Forrec he was in charge of its Asia/Pacific projects.

Scruffy Dog is pleased to welcome someone with such an extensive career to their team. Bright says “we are very lucky to have [Bowen] join our family and I am especially looking forward to working with such a seasoned true professional.

“The company, especially our design department, has seen a strong and steady growth in the past years which is reflected in the new team based in China. This appointment leads us to the next phase in our plan and the hopeful expansion to the Americas.”

Scruffy Dog  Group has recently designed Saudi Arabia’s new FEC called Colormotion in Riyadh.
