Dracula Land, a new €1 billion theme park destination, has been launched in Romania.

Located near Bucharest, the 160-hectare project is described as an entertainment, retail and technology destination.

The development includes the 780,000-square-metre Dracula Land theme park with six themed areas and more than 40 major attractions.

Dracula Land will also include a 22,500-seat multifunctional arena for concerts, festivals, esports competitions and more events, and a luxury outlet for retail and F&B.

Accommodation at Dracula Land will include the Dracula Grand Hotel, Dracula Family Hotel and Dracula Inn, providing 1,200 rooms.

Additional experiences will include a water park and thermal spa, a racing track and motor park, and a business accelerator and technology hub.

Dragoș Dobrescu, founder of Dracula Land, said: "Dracula Land brings together everything I've learned in real estate: discipline, rigor, vision, and the ability to keep complex teams with very different specializations together.

"But more importantly, it adds a story that gives meaning to every square meter built.

"For me, Dracula Land is a national project – a symbol that Romania can and must build landmarks, not just buildings or simple real estate projects."

Theme park, hotels, retail and F&B

Dracula Land is being developed by an international team of experts in architecture, engineering, finance and innovation.

Gino Garbellini, founding partner of architecture and urban planning firm Piuarch Milano, said Dracula Land "is not just a real estate project, but a cultural statement: a place where architecture, technology, creativity, and lifestyle come together in a way rarely seen in Europe."

The project will "bring together retail, entertainment, hospitality, cultural infrastructure, and technology in a way that we rarely see in Europe", said Andreea Mihai, an executive leader in retail, real estate, marketing and e-commerce.

In addition to the physical development, there will be a Dracula Land metaverse where users across the world can explore a digital twin of the destination.

This will offer its own cryptocurrency (DraculaCoin), NFT-type systems for digital ownership and experiences, and AI-driven personalisation and avatars.

According to current financial estimates, Dracula Land will generate more than 5,000 direct and indirect jobs in tourism, technology and services, and an economic impact of around €5 billion over the next decade.

In its first phase of opening, Dracula Land is projected to welcome approximately three million visitors.

Vlad Marinescu, president of the International Esports Federation, described the project as a "high-quality attraction that will showcase Romania's heritage with dignity and creativity".

"We are not just talking about a theme park, but about a cultural asset that will strengthen Romania's place on the world tourism map and function as a long-term economic engine," he added.
