Exhibition Hub, a leading creator, producer, and distributor of large-scale exhibitions worldwide, together with Semmel Exhibitions, has announced the launch of Treasures of Tutankhamun: The Experience in Antwerp, Belgium.
Using advanced technology, storytelling, and experiential design, the experience demonstrates how immersive technology can elevate historical storytelling, enabling visitors to connect with one of the greatest archaeological discoveries in a more engaging, accessible, and memorable way than ever before.
Enrique Usandizaga, CRO at Exhibition Hub, says: "The story of Tutankhamun continues to captivate audiences more than a century after the discovery of his tomb because it combines history, mystery, and extraordinary cultural significance.
"With Treasures of Tutankhamun: The Experience, we've created a journey that uses immersive technology to bring ancient Egypt to life in a way that is educational, emotionally engaging, and accessible for visitors of all ages.
"This exhibition reflects our ongoing commitment to transforming important cultural stories into unforgettable immersive experiences."
Making culture accessible
In an adventure set over 3,000 years ago in ancient Egypt, Treasures of Tutankhamun: The Experience follows the story of the young pharaoh Tutankhamun.
Visitors are transported to ancient Egypt via 360-degree projection technology, where they witness Tutankhamun's rise and the cultural significance of his reign.
At the centre of the experience are a dedicated immersive projection space and an exclusive VR journey that go beyond the boundaries of a traditional exhibition, offering an unparalleled exploration of one of history's most fascinating civilisations.
After more than a century, the discovery of his legendary tomb by archaeologist Howard Carter in the Valley of the Kings is brought back to life, and the treasury, with its plethora of objects, is presented in a one-of-a-kind reconstruction.
Additionally, reproductions of the treasure by Egyptian artists are on show and include the Pharaoh's gold mask, the stunning golden innermost coffin, the intricately crafted stone canopic chest for the king's entrails, the Golden Throne, the small gilded shrine, selected jewellery, and cosmetic containers.
Created for audiences of all ages and lasting around an hour, Treasures of Tutankhamun: The Experience merges history, archaeology, education, and immersive technology to offer an unforgettable and accessible cultural experience.
With the opening in Antwerp, Exhibition Hub further expands its growing portfolio of immersive educational experiences that use innovative storytelling and technology-driven engagement to make history, art, science, and culture accessible.
Last month, Exhibition Hub and Fever opened the US premiere of Mind of a Serial Killer: The Experience in New York City, and celebrated the successful North American rollout of the travelling exhibition.
